How does transfer credit work?

How does Newstate University evaluate credit for prior learning, like certifications or military credentials?

Overview

At Newstate University, we value the experience and knowledge you’ve already gained. If you hold industry-recognized certifications or have completed prior coursework, you may be eligible to apply those credits toward your degree or certificate—saving time, money, and effort. Our credit transfer process ensures that your past learning counts toward future success.

How It Works

Submit Your Transcripts

If you have completed college courses elsewhere, send your official transcripts and other industry certifications via this form, or via email to: contactus@newstateu.com, and we will evaluate them for eligible credit transfer. This applies to both undergraduate and graduate-level coursework.

Submit Industry Certifications

We recognize professional credentials that demonstrate expertise in specific fields. If you hold certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Salesforce, or Armed Forces credentials, you can submit them for evaluation. If they meet our academic criteria, we will apply them toward your degree.

Earn Certificates That Stack Into a Degree

At Newstate University, every course builds toward a certificate, and every certificate stacks into a degree. This ensures that your learning moves you forward—without wasted effort.

Key Benefits

  • Save Time – Get credit for what you already know and reduce the number of courses you need to complete.
  • Lower Costs – By transferring eligible credits, you can decrease tuition expenses.
  • Flexible Enrollment – Transfer credits at any point in your academic journey.
  • Industry Recognition – Certifications from leading organizations count toward degree pathways.
  • Practical Learning Approach – We focus on delivering career-relevant education rather than repeating material you’ve already mastered.

At Newstate University, we believe your skills should work for you, not be overlooked. Whether you are looking to accelerate toward a certificate or degree, our credit transfer process ensures that your education is efficient and meaningful.

An infographic titled "It all counts." illustrates a stackable credential pathway using a step-by-step visual progression connected by upward-curving arrows. The path starts at the bottom left with "micro-courses" (represented by mobile phone icons), moving to "micro-certs" (certificate icons), then "professional development programs" (shield-shaped digital badges with "AI" text), followed by "university certificates with credit" (larger certificate icons), and culminating at the top right with "degrees" (graduation cap and diploma scroll). A green text box on the left reads, "start small with a micro-course or micro-cert," while a purple text box on the bottom right states, "if it fits your plan, build to a degree."
